Katagami is an exceptional paper, primarily used to make the stencils used in Katazome printed papers and textiles. Kakishibu is fermented persimmon juice which has been aged for more than five years to extract maximum tanins which give the juice/dye waterproofing and strengthening qualities as well as a beautiful color which continues to deepen and develop over several years. It is incredibly strong and 1 stencil can be used up to 5000 times.

Katagami ist ein außergewöhnliches Papier, das vor allem zur Herstellung von Schablonen für das Bedrucken von Papieren und Stoffen mit der Katazome-Technik verwendet wird. Kakishibu ist ein fermentierter Kakisaft, der mehr als fünf Jahre lang gelagert wird, um möglichst viele Tannine zu extrahieren, was dem Saft/Farbstoff seine imprägnierenden und stärkenden Eigenschaften sowie seine wunderschöne Farbe verleiht, die sich über mehrere Jahre hinweg noch weiter vertieft und entwickelt. Das Papier ist außerordentlich stark und eine Schablone kann bis zu 5000 Mal verwendet werden.
